Back Alley Fibers is offering classes for all levels of knitters. It is a proven fact that learning something new is good for the mind! Come and join us while learning a new craft or developing an existing one. Christmas is approaching fast, so start those projects early.

- Please pre-register for classes as class sizes are limited.
- Class fees do not reflect the cost of supplies unless otherwise stated.
- Payment must be made at time of registration
- Samples for classes will be available for viewing in the shop.
- Supply list will be available prior to class. Please be sure to stop by and purchase your supplies prior to the first class or come early to class.
- Some classes will require "homework" between classes in order to complete your project during the class time frame.
- In order to be fair to us as a store, we must ask that all yarns and patterns for classes be purchased at Back Alley Fibers. You will receive a 10% discount on all class supplies.
- If you want to take a class, but the time doesn’t suit you, some instructors might be flexible with their dates and/or times. Be sure to ask.
- If there is a class you'd like but it's not being offered, let us know. We're always open to suggestions.
- If you cancel 1 week prior to 1st class, all monies will be refunded. If you cancel with less than a week’s notice, you will receive a 50% refund. Once class has begun, the cost of the class is not refundable. All class fees will be refunded if Back Alley Fibers needs to cancel a class.
- Basic knitting tools that you might need for class: Yarn darners, stitch markers, small scissors, stitch holders, tape measure, row counter.

Learn to Knit/Crochet or Specialty Workshop: By appointment onlyWant to learn to knit? Know how to knit, but want to learn how to purl, cast on, bind of, decrease, increase, etc. We can get you started and teach you the basics. This class is scheduled for you when YOU want. Schedule a 1 hour personal one on one instruction. Need help with a project? Want to learn something new or learn proper seaming and finishing techniques on your almost finished project? This class is scheduled for you and only you. For finishing techniques, you must have your project ready for finishing. Call and set up an appointment.
Class Fee is $12.00 per hour
Queensland Cabled Sweater with Ruby: ThursdaysMake a yoke placket sweater with the waist in cables. A 4 week class with breaks for homework.
Sessions: 4 - 2 hour classes

Felted Flowers on Silk Pillows with Ruby: TuesdaysMake flowers in different shapes; leaves, roses, bobbles, and twists then felt them for arrangement on pillow covers.

Swing Shawl with Ruby: TuesdaysMake fan motifs with yarn overs, learning how to pick up stitches.

This is another technique to add to your knitting bags of knowledge. You should already know how to knit socks on 4 DP needles before you take this class.

Felted Bravo Bag ( Chris Bylsma Design) with Marty: WednesdaysKnit a beautiful cabled tote to hold some of your current projects. It’s fun! It’s easier than it looks. The handles are 2 men’s belts, which embellish the design as well as add sturdiness to the tote. You can also use it as a large purse.

Noro Silk Garden Scarf with Lisa: MondaysThis scarf is knit by manually striping Noro's Silk Garden which makes for many interesting and countless variations. It is a fast project and one which is a good "take along" project. Choose bright colors for a child or more toned down colors for a man.

Bobble Wrap with Sherry: ThursdaysThis is a fun and easy project. This little wrap is quick, keeps you warm and it looks good, too. Great gift for that person who’s always cold.

Beginning Mittens with Sherry: SaturdaysNeed something to keep those hands warm on these cold days? Learn how to knit these basic mittens on 4 needles and then you’ll be ready for fancier variations.

Glad Hands Gloves with Faith: SaturdaysMake these fun gloves using short rows using a side to side technique. They’re really comfy and can be knitted in a wide range of colors.
